Hankering for long form blogging again with a tagging system functional for personal navigation. Long hiatus from my last participation in fandom (2012, realistically? with a slow fic dropoff post that) to early 2023 when motivation struck out of the blue.
I think about the depths a lot of the time, but also really enjoy just playing on the surface. When connecting on the internet, it often feels hard to find a group that accepts deep thinking and totally derailing crack from one source. While I do write fanfiction, I'm also interested in rambling about the craft of writing about fanfiction, the way a writer thinks/approaches fanfiction, and some rangingly superficial to deep observations about fandom (as the amorphous demographic community-monster it is). My actual fanfic interests (writing or reading) also range extremely widely in focus and type.
I really enjoy writing and producing and moving on; making the 1000 pieces of imperfect pottery fast rather than the 1 perfect piece. But each 1 of the 1000 is likely to be trying something different.
